More about me

Hey there!

My name is Sandra, I was born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland! I graduated from Ecolint with an IB diploma and attended Teesside University in Middlesbrough, where in 2015 I attained a BA(hons) in Fine Art. Since graduating I have taken on a variety of different projects; these include working for the website dreame.me, painting a mural, securing my first solo exhibition and assisting a Swiss artist and sculptor, Jean Pierre Romy with his show in Pristina, Kosovo.

The art I create is intuitive; there is very little if any planning when it comes to creating my pieces. Instead I just let the movement take form. I delved deeper into this method of creating art when I was 19. What initially looked like nonsensical scribbles and a way of relieving certain unsettled thoughts and emotions eventually took shape into different and more recognisable patterns over the years.

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, and throughout art has consistently been my guide. Creating art has enabled me to discover corners of my mind I was unaware about as well as maintain a healthy balance on the huge variety of emotions we experience as human beings. For this reason, I not only consider my art intuitive but also therapeutic.

As well as having a love for creating, I am passionate about life and the mysteries it holds. What our role is here as a species on this earth and how we can leave the world in a better way than when we found it; even if it means just working on yourself and being the best person you can be. I love reading, learning, reflecting on new experiences and the people I meet. Furthermore, I have a particular interest in art as a tool for healing, helping us to no longer see our problems as obstacles but as challenges that will make our lives better. Art is great tool for feeling inspired and a simple tool for meditation as it keeps our hands busy but allows us to work on a different wavelength. I am a life explorer and my explorations will continue! My wish is that you can take as much pleasure viewing my pieces as I do creating them!
